Mowery & Schoenfeld, LLC is seeking a Tax Partner with a focus in Private Client Services, an entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to client service to join our team!
As a Partner, you will operate as a leader and mentor in our firm showcasing exemplary professionalism with both internal colleagues and staff and while providing client service and advisory. You will be offered the opportunity to be challenged as well as to own client engagements while building relationships within the team. You will capitalize on your experience and knowledge to provide advisement and recommendations to clients.
Our private client services cater to affluent and ultra-high net worth families. Focusing on both their overall big picture financial situation while providing the personal attention and focus on our clients’ day-to-day matters. As a dedicated partner, you will collaborate directly with clients and other professional advisors to craft effective strategies for tax compliance and planning, financial management, family office oversight, and estate and succession planning.
Role Aspects and Expectations:
Client Experience:
- Serve and build relationships with clients, monitoring client service and value proposition, acting as trusted advisor to ensure we are a premium provider providing quality work, open communication, sound advice, and proactive service.
- Develop a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of High-Net-Worth clients, including leadership around High-Net-Worth infrastructure with a focus on scaling the practice while ensuring client needs are met.
- Continuously assess each client’s needs as their goals and objectives evolve, adapting our client service and strategies.
Technical:
- Perform partner level compliance review and tax return supervision.
- Serve as a professional role model, in the role of tax advisor to many of the firm’s most valued clients.
- Serve as a go-to resource for technical questions or knowledge.
- Willingness and excitement to grow and have a hunger of constant learning within the craft.
Leadership, Mentorship & Staff Development:
- Respect and celebrate the value of each of the stories, backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas of each of our team members, building meaningful relationships with all those you interact with.
- Be growth oriented and work toward building a leveraged model, when appropriate.
- Provide mentoring and motivation to the team, including developing young leaders via active contribution to training and development.

Growth Initiatives:
- Responsible for growth of the firm’s services to private client families, including identifying market trends, anticipating opportunities, and developing personalized go-to-market strategies/plans.
- Build strong relationships and interact regularly with clients, internal client partners and up-and-coming talent, external industry groups, industry market leaders in adjacent sectors, and service line leaders – coordinating to align skills with market trends and drive strategic technical leadership hires.
- Establish growth goals, and actively manage a strategic business plan and opportunity pipeline that ensures these goals are met, cross sell to other parts of the firm such as wealth management.
Job requirements
Qualifications and Credentials:
- Active CPA licensure and bachelor’s degree (MST preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive experience within tax, preferably in a public accounting firm within the private client services space
- 2+ years at the partner level or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership experience with a consistent record of accomplishment, accountability, and history of execution against budget and strategic initiatives
- In-depth experience, knowledge and a concentration in High-Net-Worth Tax
