Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an ambitious and curious tax manager professional with particular interest and expertise in private wealth and high-net worth group, mentoring younger staff, seeking ongoing learning, and providing exemplary client service.
Tax Managers operate as leaders and mentors within our Firm by demonstrating the ability to:
- Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency.
- Develop recommendations and maintaining client relationships by balancing the client needs along with other assignments and deadlines.
- Provide proactive advice based on their knowledge of tax law, particularly within the private wealth and high-net worth group
- Demonstrate initiative to creatively solve issues in collaboration with the lead.
- Leverage technology to automate both internal and client processes to improve efficiency.
- Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Senior Managers and Partners.
Qualified candidates who can work in-office or hybrid schedules are strongly preferred.
Job requirements
We are seeking an individual who is curious, self-motivated, and a team player with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline
- 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 2+ years in managerial role preferred
- CPA certified and active license
- Expertise in management of Individual, Gift, Estate and Trust income tax compliance and providing knowledgeable review of complex returns
- Background and experience managing and actively providing advisory and tax solutions to clients
- Feels empowered to provide solutions and ideas
- Values professional development
- Exhibits excellent project and team leadership, and communication skills
- Shares our focus on growth and problem solving
