Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an ambitious and curious tax senior manager professional with particular interest and expertise in business and corporate tax group, mentoring younger staff, seeking ongoing learning, and providing exemplary client service.


Tax Senior Managers operate as leaders and mentors within our Firm by demonstrating the ability to:

  • Develop more industry specific expertise and apply knowledge across similar engagements.

  • Act as primary client lead and point of contact, being available to address any client needs and have regular client meetings.

  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and help to facilitate improvements.

  • Provide ongoing support and feedback from the team to ensure job satisfaction.

  • Lead engagements by meeting client needs with a sense of urgency.

  • Develop recommendations and maintaining client relationships by balancing the client needs along with other assignments and deadlines.

  • Provide proactive advice based on their knowledge of tax law, particularly within the business and corporate tax group.

  • Leverage technology to automate both internal and client processes to improve efficiency.

  • Act as a mentor to younger staff and work directly with Partners.

Qualified candidates who can work in-office or hybrid schedules are strongly preferred.

Job requirements

We are seeking an individual who is curious, self-motivated, and a team player with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline

  • 7+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with 3+ years in managerial role preferred

  • CPA certified and active license

  • Expertise in management of C-Corporation, S-Corp, and Partnership income tax compliance and providing knowledgeable review of complex preparation

  • Background and experience managing and actively providing advisory and tax solutions to clients

  • Feels empowered to provides solutions and ideas

  • Values professional development

  • Exhibits excellent project and team leadership, and communication skills

  • Shares our focus on growth and problem solving
