Mowery & Schoenfeld is seeking an experienced Tax Administrator to join their growing team out of our Chicago location.

Summary

The Tax Administrator for our team provides expertise in responsively handling duties and responsibilities as well as implementing processes to facilitate thorough communication and work completion. This role requires an experienced professional who exhibits sound judgement and succinct written communication, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will value integrity and possess an appreciation for providing high quality work.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Update client databases to ensure firm-wide accuracy and create specialized database reports as needed.

  • Follow client pipelines to drive prompt communication.

  • Utilize firm software to provide deliverables to clients.

  • Receive and digitize client documents while following firm policies and procedures for document sharing and filing.

  • Review and analyze source documents to ensure proper treatment and distribution to the appropriate engagement team.

  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.  Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

  • Remain current in firm technologies.

  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2 + years of professional administrative support experience, preferably in public accounting or legal environment

  • Demonstrates strong communication and client service skills

  • Solid Microsoft Office Suite experience; particularly Excel

  • General electronic database knowledge

  • Superior attention to detail         

  • Possesses a strong sense of urgency to complete responsibilities efficiently and accurately

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude, and able to work independently and proactively

  • Strong interest in learning and development

  • Ability to work out of our Chicago office (Additional Saturday hours will be mandatory from February to mid-April each year.)
