Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Planner (Financial Planning Associate/Paraplanner) to support our wealth advisory team in delivering comprehensive, client-centered financial planning solutions. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, grow, and develop technical expertise within a collaborative, professional environment.

The Junior Financial Planner plays a key role in preparing financial plans, conducting analyses, supporting client meetings, and maintaining accurate client data across our planning and portfolio management platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning Support

  • Assist in the development, analysis, and review of comprehensive financial plans, including cash flow, retirement, tax, estate, and insurance planning.

  • Perform detailed financial analyses such as scenario modeling, risk assessments, and goal tracking.

  • Develop expertise in financial planning technology, with a strong focus on eMoney.

Client Meeting Preparation & Support

  • Collaborate closely with Wealth Advisors to create holistic financial plans encompassing retirement planning, tax strategies, estate planning, insurance planning, and investment management.

  • Participate in client meetings to gather financial information and gain an understanding of client goals, risk tolerance, and long-term financial objectives.

  • Prepare client-facing materials, including presentations, reports, and financial illustrations.

  • Enter and maintain accurate client data across multiple systems, including Tamarac and eMoney, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, tax law updates, and investment strategies to contribute meaningful insights to the financial planning process.

  • Ensure all financial planning activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Job requirements

Education

  • College or university degree required.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of professional experience; this is an entry-level role.

  • Prior exposure to financial planning, wealth management, or related industries is a plus.

  • Familiarity with financial planning software and CRM platforms preferred.
